About Mahesh Ramakrishnan
Mahesh Ramakrishnan is the co-founder of Mahamaya Dogs, a nonprofit dedicated to the rescue, care, and dignity of street dogs in India. Born and raised in Chennai, he grew up surrounded by dogs and witnessed the struggles of stray animals in his community — experiences that shaped his lifelong commitment to their welfare.
Before founding Mahamaya, Mahesh built a career in investing and entrepreneurship. He worked at Goldman Sachs and at a global investment fund before starting EV3, a venture capital firm that backs entrepreneurs building the next generation of internet infrastructure and identity. His work has always reflected a belief in long-term vision, resilience, and compassion — qualities that also guide Mahamaya’s mission.
Mahesh studied at the University of Chicago, where he was deeply involved in both academics and student initiatives. Today, he splits his time between the U.S. and India, but his heart is firmly with the dogs of Mahamaya, each one a reminder of the love, loyalty, and dignity animals bring into our lives.
